Design: Plastic Vs. Metal –

From the current rumors it looks like both of the companies are going to mirror their latest flagships into the mini ones. Galaxy S4 Mini is going to have the same plastic body that comes in its bigger brother. Whereas, HTC One Mini, code named as HTC M4, will share the metal body design of its predecessor. The main thing here is the battle of plastic and metal design.

Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini future buyers are going to get a cheaper feeling with the phone because of its plastic body. While HTC One Mini will share the same design that is being appreciated in the current HTC One. It will be up to the buyers if they are willing to feel cheaper with Samsung’s Galaxy S4 Mini plastic body or richer with full metal design of the HTC One Mini.

Software Side –

Samsung & HTC are launching the mini version of their flagships to target affordable buyers in the Android market. So, it will be really interesting thing to notice if the tech giants will put the same software features in the miniature versions. Both of the companies might not really want to ruin their top end flagship devices by providing the same software features in lesser prices.

This also kills the point of running Android 4.3 or 5.0 Key Lime Pie in these mini devices. But, we are sure both of the companies will enhance the software interface with their custom UI ( HTC’s Sense UI & Samsung’s TouchWiz Interface).

Performance –

HTC is going to step down in the performance area with HTC One Mini that is rumored to come with a Dual Core processor and only 16 GB inbuilt memory. On the other hand Samsung is expected to launch Galaxy S4 Mini with a dual core 1600 MHz processor which is better than HTC One Mini. Overall, there will not be much difference in the performance of these devices. However, HTC One Mini is going to take advantage of its Ultra pixels camera technology to shoot better photos than Galaxy S4 Mini .

Verdict

Well, there you have the comparison based on the current speculations between Samsung Galaxy S4 Mini and HTC One Mini. Both of the companies have separate niche of buyers in the market. But seems HTC One Mini might be able to steal some sales from Samsung because of its Ultrapixel camera and rich looking body design. According to the reports both of the companies are going to launch these devices without any special huge press event.

It passes with flying colors when put to any benchmark test.

• Camera: Both the companies have chosen the trend in fitting their respective flagships with a thirteen megapixel rear camera and a two megapixel front facing camera. The camera applications of the Xperia Z are among the most feature-packed and user-friendly, in terms of software. It consists of the ability to choose output resolution, ISO settings, exposure controls, metering, white balance control, image stabilization and such. It has the ability to toggle between touch to capture and touch to focus and a useful smile shutter. It comes with HDR mode in both video and photo capture. You can also choose between panoramas, burst mode, different scenes, filters etc.

Galaxy S4 has also incorporated a thirteen megapixel camera, with a multitude of camera tweaks and settings. Features range from the dual shot to the drama shot to the animated photo. The camera does a great job in capturing 16:9 shots though that reduces its field of view. It performs well outdoors but inside, the photos come out a bit grainy.

• Durability: Both devices are extremely soothing to look at but at the back of every user’s mind there will be concern for the durability of each. Both are clad with gorilla glass covered displays but that does not save them from the fact that they are fragile and susceptible to drops.

• Cost: Both devices are costly but the Sony Xperia Z’s price in India stands at approximately Rs. 36490 and the Samsung Galaxy S4 can actually burn a hole in your pocket, as it is priced at a whopping Rs.41500 approximately. But those who are looking forward to buy these handsets know this, and have a deep pocket.

All the other specifications are almost similar to that of Aqua Marvel+ except it has a 2 MP rear facing camera without LED and Auto-focus . Internal memory of Intex Aqua Swadesh is of 76 MB which is also extended up to 32 GB via sd card . Same 1Ghz Mediatek processor with 256 MB RAM powering the handset . Aqua Swadesh sailing on 2.3.6 Gingerbread android OS .

The Canvas A111 will be running on 4.1 Jelly Bean android OS and powered with quad-core processor which is cloaked at 1.2 GHz but unfortunately no Mediatek chipset this time , Qualcomm MSM8225Q CPU is embedded in the smartphone which is not so powerful ( we all know about the capabilities of such processor ) . A 8 MP rear facing camera with Auto Focus , LED Flash and a 2 MP camera supporting video recording in 720 pixels .

Moving to its memory details , Internal memory  of 4 GB which can be extended up to 32 GB with the help of micro sd card and 512 MB of RAM out of which around 270 MB will be free ( Same as we have seen on Canvas 2 ) . If you are hoping that it will have magnetic sensor than let me tell you that will come with Proximity , Light and G-sensor ,no Magnetic sensor . A 2100 mAh battery for backing up the Micromax Canvas A111  may be around 24 hrs with normal usage on a full charge .
